Found in woodland, gardens and hedgerows across the UK, I spotted this Speckled Wood butterfly perched on a leaf in the sunshine. I love these butterflies because although they can appear plain at first glance, when you look closer there’s so much beauty in the subtle details of their wings. Handpainted with watercolour on 100 % cotton paper.
